Boston Massacre Reenactment

From the Bostonian socirty's FB page:
Join us on Saturday, March, 8 at 7:00 pm as we commemorate the 244th anniversary of the Boston Massacre. Witness this infamous event as it is reenacted in front of the Old State House, in the very place where it occurred in 1770.

Before the action unfolds, hear from patriots, loyalists, and moderates who will talk about the events and attitudes that led to that fateful night. Become part of the night, joining in with shouts of the crowd, taunting the British or condemning the raucous Bostonians. As they s
ay “the early bird gets the worm,” so come early and explore the newly re-done Council Chamber, learn more about the Boston Massacre, and get a great viewing spot for the event!

Can’t make the reenactment? Follow us on twitter for a live tweet of the reenactment! Find us @BostonianSoc using #bostonmassacre.

A big advance thank you to the reenactors and living historians from throughout New England participating who help bring this event to life! Please see www.bostonhistory.org for more details

'Benedict Arnold in the Company of Heroes'

The Lives of the Extraordinary Patriots Who Followed Arnold to Canada at the Start of the American Revolution

Copyright Arthur Lefkowitz Collection. He says 'Here is the wrap-around cover painting that I commissioned for my new book'.
'I commissioned this illustration from the Albany, New York based artist Dahl Taylor for my book. I had Mr.Taylor include my two dogs in his painting. My terrier Jackson is standing next to Benedict Arnold and Jackson's younger sister Schuyler is posed next to Arnold's aides-de-camp. Check-out the rifleman behind Daniel Morgan.  He is carrying a folding spear which may have been used in the Saratoga campaign.   The Charleville muskets are racked with their bayonets fixed and Morgan is wearing shoes and not moccasins ..   Arnold is not wearing a ribband-of-office across his chest but his two aides-de-camp are wearing them. Basically everything in the painting is based on period artwork including Arnold’s face.
